Viewing Notes

Kind of an updated take on Besson’s own LA FEMME NIKITA crossed with RED SPARROW; not as good as the former and strangely better at times than the latter.

Some fun action set pieces and Sasha Luss acquits herself well enough. The real fun is with the supporting cast of Luke Evans, Cillian Murphy and especially Helen Mirren who steals every scene she’s in.

The flashbacks get annoying and feel more perfunctory and expository leaving one to wonder if the story could have been told better in a linear fashion; or at least with less of them.
