Viewing Notes

Newly purchased from Eureka. The idiosyncratic style throws you off at first because it’s so unexpected and jarring, but once it gets moving it becomes this wonderfully weird thing all its own.

The action set pieces are an amazing combination of acrobatic stunts and gun play, spliced together with inventive editing to create something entirely new. It’s a lot of fun to watch and you almost immediately want to revisit certain scenes, if not the whole movie.

I thought maybe I’d seen this before but definitely had not.

Had a similar reaction when I first watched this and was the reason why I watched it again the following day. It was like there was no way to absorb it all on that first viewing. Even watching it again last night I had forgotten how much happens. Definitely its own thing which is probably why I enjoyed it so much back then.
