Overview

Murders, with victims dying from spines broken by brute strength, erupt in the city and the killers, when encountered, walk away unharmed by police bullets which strike them.  A police doctor’s investigation of the deaths leads to the discovery of an army of dead criminal musclemen restored to life, remotely controlled by a vengeful former crime boss and a former Nazi scientist, from the latter’s laboratory hidden in the suburbs.

Viewing Notes

Cracked open the Cold War Creatures box set from Arrow Films. From the golden era of B-movie sci-fi films that often hinge on completely fantastic plots, much like the serials that pre-dated them.

Featuring Richard Denning, better known for his role in CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, released a year before this film; and a spectacularly saucy Angela Stevens as his wife. Given the time it was released, there’s some pretty racy sexual banter in this.

Other than the atom brain undead creatures, the best part of this is all the great dialogue spit out by Denning’s sidekick partner played by longtime character actor Michael Granger.

The packaging and artwork for this set is gorgeous too.
