Overview
When social worker Rika is sent to check on a traumatized old lady whose family have moved in at the site of the notorious Saeki family murder case, she unwittingly unleashes a cycle of terror that is transmitted via its victims further and further from its original source.

Viewing Notes
It’s lost some of its creepiness over the years but still pretty effective. In the introduction Shimizu calls this a remake, and it sort of is, but also explores new territory, so it feels partly like a sequel as well.
I had some issues with getting the subtitles to show up. Arrow’s QC on their releases has certainly been lacking.
