Hate to admit that I was mostly bored by this. There are some fun, gory, outstanding sequences but overall it feels overlong, especially the drawn out final chapter. As with the first film, what this one lacks is any sort of real empathy (or malice for the most part) for its victims. You typically want to cheer some of the deaths of victims you’ve been set up to dismiss as “deserving” of their punishment, and empathy for others who don’t “deserve” their fate. Art also seems to have no real motive for his killings, no way to be stopped, and is completely amoral. You can take portions of all that and still have a good movie, but putting all of it together results in something less interesting.
