Ingrid and Martha were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. Ingrid went on to become an autofiction novelist while Martha became a war reporter, and they were separated by the circumstances of life. After years of being out of touch, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation.

Decided to drive into Boulder to see this. It was either here or at the Sie in Denver, and I wanted Mustard’s Last Stand so Boulder it was.
It Almodóvar so you know there’s going to be some melodrama, and there is, but it does hue closer to pure drama for most of it. Swinton, Moore and Turturro are all three excellent, but especially Swinton.
The movie pretty much destroyed me. If you know me and have seen this movie then the reasons are pretty obvious.
