Great to see this epic on the big screen. It’s a long movie but for some reason didn’t feel like it while at the Sie. About the same crowd for this as for yesterday’s Dragon Inn. Hsu Feng is great as the fugitive princess, Yang Hui-zhen. She’s so taciturn and serious throughout. You can’t take your eyes off of her when she’s on the screen. The final act gets weird and spiritual, but I like it.
I forgot Sammo Hung is in this until he shows up in the final act. He’s immediately recognizable. Jackie Chan is also in this as an extra but I couldn’t tell you where or when.
