Overview
Washed-up revolutionary Bob exists in a state of stoned paranoia, surviving off-grid with his spirited, self-reliant daughter, Willa. When his evil nemesis resurfaces after 16 years and she goes missing, the former radical scrambles to find her, father and daughter both battling the consequences of his past.

Viewing Notes
The movie may be almost 3 hours long but it doesn’t feel like it when you’re watching it, which is good news. Oddly sparse crowd for the 11:15 AM screening in The Big Show theater given how packed it was for screenings on Thursday.
As usual for PTA’s films, his quirky characters lead to some great performances from his cast. I like DiCaprio’s recent history of playing characters you either don’t like at all, or have mixed feelings about. These are meatier roles than just a leading man role.
Penn is great as the completely shitty, unlikable antagonist.
