It’s directed by Robert Wise, so you know you’re in good hands! The buildup to the actual crime is slow but steady, and the payoff is worth every minute of it.
There’s some pretty pointed, stark messaging about racism here that figures heavily into the plot.
The robbery scenes are gorgeously shot, very noirish in its use of shadow.
