Viewing Notes

I hadn’t watched this in quite a while and I’m happy to say it still holds up pretty well, though the violence seems almost quaint in comparison to a number of movies I’ve seen since this was released.

The premise also remains as silly as it ever was. The plot is, for the most part, just an excuse to get down and dirty with ‘shocking’ (for its time) teen-on-teen violence, which is an extension of the typical angst and sociological difficulties normal teenagers face on a daily basis. In this case, instead of not being invited to the cool kids party, you’re hunted down and killed with a machete. Or in this case, you show up with a gun at the cool kids party and wreak havoc.

I streamed this off Netflix Instant Watch in HD and the quality was pretty damn good. Part of my Battle Royale Double Feature Friday.
