Viewing Notes

Wasn’t entirely sure if I had seen this but was kinda sure I had… and once the film got going I realized that I once rented this from Facets on VHS back in the day. The thing that puts this over the top are the excellent choreographed fight sequences. The best being the courtyard scene where Jet Li and Sibelle Hu fight on the heads of the onlookers.

I’m not crazy about the slapstick comedy or comedy of errors stuff but the action makes up for it esp. with the debut of Wenzhuo Zhao/Man Cheuk Chiu who has gone on to have a pretty good career (last saw him in True Legend).

Not sure if I’ve seen the sequel to this so I’ll get to that eventually.
