aka Fong Sai Yuk, the much better and preferred title over that generic The Legend name. I mentioned this on my previous viewing that I still have a vivid memory of seeing this VHS at Facets (along w/Torso VHS) which immediately triggered my membership there. Was so cool to finally see movies I had only read about.

Definitely had to revisit this one for my “Leaving on a Jet Li” project for 2022. P sure this series also hasn’t gotten a great upgrade treatment and boy it needs it (calling you, Eureka!). The YT upload isn’t bad and actually decent on static shots but not great for the intense action scenes. I think I have this on DVD (unlogged), too. Definitely have Part 2 which I will be viewing soon.
Josephine Siao Fong-Fong is so fucking amazing in this that now I wanna track down more of her work, which sadly (broken record here) isn’t easily available. Fairly certain we’re gonna die before we ever get access to many of the films we still haven’t seen from Hong Kong and Japan.
I don’t need to highlight Jet here as he’s just a beast of kung fu highlight reels in this (both fights against Zhao are next level). The real centerpiece is the Siao / Sibelle Hu fight (Hu is also fantastic in this).
