Ash Williams and his girlfriend Linda find a log cabin in the woods with a voice recording from an archeologist who had recorded himself reciting ancient chants from “The Book of the Dead.” As they play the recording an evil power is unleashed taking over Linda’s body.

Saw this on the newly returned shelf at the library today so I grabbed it b/c after yesterday’s chatter on twitter about the Evil Dead films I realized I haven’t seen the 2nd film in years… possibly since college.
Yep, this is def a different turn from the first film but I’m not w/the crowd that prefers this one over the first one in terms of rewatchability. I’d rather watch the first more often given the choice. I do dig the comedy here but not as much as the dark tone of the first film. But I would love to see this film in the theater w/a crowd.
