Viewing Notes

Jackie Chan’s sequel takes place immediately after the events in the previous film. It’s so weird that his superiors call him a “regular” cop after everything he’s done (not to mention his fabulous physical abilities). He’s demoted and eventually quits the force until they call him back in for a special mission to stop some bomb terrorists.

Unlike the first film, there is less comedy here and more focus on his relationship with May, portrayed admirably by Maggie Cheung again. A few decent brawls and stunts but the real showpiece is the final sequence and ultimate showdown at the warehouse. The film is overly long at 2+ hours but that finale is worth the watch. Amazing stunts and setpiece.
