Viewing Notes

Final Hitchcock film for the day at MBT for Hitchcock 9 silent film series. And one I wish I had skipped. Possibly the most tedious Hitchcock film. Good 45min story stretched to nearly 2 hours. Ugh. So many sighs in our audience. Looking at the standard runtime of 1:20 I was expecting to get home by 11pm. The film wasn’t over until 11pm!

Ivor Novello is excellent but the tedium just kills any momentum. I hope critics back in 1927 wrote for Hitch to tighten that shit up.
