Viewing Notes

Seventh film of my FF2013 and 4th of Day 2. Also the only Hong Kong film this year, which was disappointing. Maybe as disappointing as this movie was for me. Had hopes this would be great based on the premise and the buzz out of TIFF. But man does it take its time to get going. The final sequence makes it worth viewing but it’s a long haul to get there. Very stylish and beautifully shot but overly convoluted. Will revisit some day. My first disappointment of the festival but still many films to go.
