Better than I remembered. Not that this is really a good movie but it’s more enjoyable than my first viewing so many years ago. I had forgotten large portions of it (really only recalling Don Frye’s laughably bad acting). This is essentially a loose remake of Astro-Monster and Destroy All Monsters combined.
Lots of goofy stuff and shoehorned humor but still quite fun to see so many kaiju even if only briefly. Godzilla doesn’t officially appear until after the 1 hour mark (in a 2 hour movie). It’s perfectly fine since when he does show up, he stomps through a few countries taking down all the kaiju in his way.
One more movie to watch to finish this project!
