Viewing Notes
Nice to see that Wong Kar Wai was much like most other directors in his early years making films very typical of the time period. The template used in this movie is very familiar if you seen any number of urban drama HK films. It’s a good movie with some good character moments but I wouldn’t place this one as high as it is in the HK top 200. Also seeing Andy Lau in this it’s clear he’s drinking from the fountain of youth because he’s barely aged in the past two decades.

okay, now that I’ve reached it on the top 200 it isn’t quite as high as originally thought. 113 overall which is fine for this type of melodrama.
