It’s been several years since I’ve seen this. Pretty good balance of humor and fighting even if most of the sequences seem unnecessary beats to drag out the story. The entire scene around Jackie Chan and Lily Li in her home is fun but adds nothing to main plot. Also would have been cool to see her get more camera time because she’s terrific.
Jackie Chan’s charisma goes a long way to make up for any of the weaker moments. He’s great when he’s getting schooled by a better fighter. The bench fighting is exceptional though not quite as good as Drunken Master. Kinda interesting that there are really no big stunts featured; it’s pure kung fu fighting and some nice comedy bits.
