Overview
Cheng, a beautiful martial arts ace, battles to keep her inheritance from the ruthless Yun Wei, but her efforts are sabotaged by Yu Tao, her wayward and irrepressible great-nephew. Following a frenzy of spectacular comic mishaps, the hapless duo are setup and imprisoned and the deeds to Cheng’s estate are stolen. She is held hostage after a doomed attempt to reclaim the papers back from Yu Wei’s place, and the stage is set for a savage fight to the death.

Kara Hui in the starring role? Yes, please.
Hot damn. This is a Kara Hui tour-de-force. No wonder she won best actress at the HK film awards the following year. Apparently the first kung fu movie to win this award which is no surprise given very few featured female leads. She was 20 years old when the movie was made!
Mix of comedy and action. Country mouse city mouse story with Hui’s character as the fish out of water. She is so much fun to watch. Nice interview with her on the DVD reminiscing about the part and her career with Shaw Brothers.
Hilarious to see Gordon Liu pop up in a small supporting role.
Excellent final fight with simultaneous battles happening. Really fun movie.
