Cyborg detective Batou is assigned to investigate a series of murders committed by gynoids—doll-like cyborgs, which all malfunctioned, killed, then self-destructed afterwards. The brains of the gynoids initialize in order to protect their manufacturer’s software, but in one gynoid, which Batou himself neutralized, one file remains: a voice speaking the phrase “Help me.”

What a trip. Gorgeous animation. Thought I had seen this when it was released in theater but nope. Thought I owned this bc I used to see this at Blockbuster all the time. Figured that the gynoid in this movie was what they used for the live action film.
Fuck. I do own the DVD. Isn’t cataloged bc I haven’t done any of my anime shelf (adding to DVDpedia). Ah well. I’d totally revisit this again bc it’s so damn beautiful to watch.
