Viewing Notes

Not a good movie by any stretch but certainly a fascinating watch. Glad TKU-TV aired it bc I’ve wanted to see this for a while (I may have it on file somewhere). Basically flying saucers come to Taiwan (they say Hong Kong in the movie) and weird shit starts to happen. Then three jumbo sized Martians appear and destroy much of the city. A Kuan God idol created by a old blind man transforms into a giant God Warrior after the old man pleas with the idol to save them.

So then there’s the first battle between the God Warrior and the Martians, which should be noted look goofy AF. But the God Warrior cannot defeat them bc he is blind! So there’s more to this that ultimately leads to more battles.

The point of the film is science versus religion (the old man’s son is a scientist that develops a ray gun to fight the Martians) with the result that religion is stronger in the end. I guess?

Give this 5/10 for the effort and weirdness of it all. Would be nice to see a better transfer release of this but that seems unlikely as I’m guessing no original elements exist.
