Viewing Notes

Remembered that this was scheduled on Daikaiju TV for tonight (week long of Japanese horror) and was lucky that it had just started when I fired up Facebook to check. Really cool ghost story with a great cast. Another one I’m surprised hasn’t gotten a release here. Wish one of those genre companies would tackle more classic J-horror flicks like this one. Hell it has Takashi Shimura in a supporting role!

Here a man goes to the Obon festival with this students and encounters two mysterious women. They follow him home and ask to be invited into his house. That’s the first big mistake. They tell their sad tale and the man becomes enamored with the younger woman. Turns out both women are ghosts (this is the premise) and the horror begins.

Basically a story of seduction and love and also greed. This would be a fun one for a movie night. I’ll have to look for a grey market DVD.
