What happens when a glamorous express, with high government officials, wealthy merchants, concubines and a gang of brigands on board, speeds towards the small town of Hanshui, where escaping bank robbers, corrupt officials, and gamblers await? Well, let’s just say the Titanic had a smoother maiden voyage.

Listened to the commentary track with Bey Logan and I’m so glad I did. Despite being recently outed as a scumbag he really is an expert on these films. I’d love to see his notes in prep for this even though he sounds so natural rattling off all the individual cast members and why they are notable including previous works and current works. It’s rather astonishing and also educational.
In addition, he notes how certain stunts were performed and when stunt actors are used. All the stuff that was done on top of the moving train was actually done by the real actors. Crazy! Another neat thing is comparing different scenes to what films and/or scenes that influenced them. Seriously a wealth of knowledge, which is especially useful for a film like this that employs so many famous HK/Chinese actors.
