Viewing Notes

Holy shit this is great. Stars Hsu and Carter Wong as sister and brother. Beyond that I’m not entirely sure. What I can say is that there is one badass fight or wicked scene after another with these two being hunted by spinning blade assassin Chang Yu. This movie features at least 3 weapons I haven’t seen used in a kung fu flick: the aforementioned bird blades, the sawblade chain (maybe I have seen some variation of this?) and the spear/dagger chain (another similar weapon). So much chain w/sharp instrument fighting in this. There’s also a “house of traps” sequence that’s really great. That’s a fun set but I do love all the outdoor sequences.

This is another Taiwanese martial arts flick that I wish got a nice home video release. Would be fun for a movie night.
