Overview

In an underwater city, a young girl takes care of a large egg she holds carefully in her arms – a treasure that she believes is an angel’s egg. One day, a boy with a gun arrives in search of a bird he saw in his dream and, at first, it seems as if feelings of sympathy are developing between the two.

Viewing Notes

This is either low-key brilliant or just some pretentious religious mush delivered by Mamoru Oshii. Or possibly both?

That said, I really love the gothic look of this despite being set sometime in a future that resembles Earth. The animation style is a little like Galaxy Express mixed with Belladonna of Sadness.

DKUTV programmed this for their Anime World feature (Monday nights) but I decided to catch it on YT which may have a slightly better PQ than the DKU stream.
