Glad DKUTV programmed this (along w/the first Guyver flick) bc I’ve been wanting to see this sequel for a while and it’s not as easily accessible. Despite the dopey plot and actors this is a pretty good flick that really feels more like a tokusatsu film than the previous movie. Tbh I like this movie more than the first movie. I watched the final 30 minutes or so of the first film to lead into this movie and boy that movie is some goofy shit.
What’s neat about this movie is all the daytime action sequences. Reminded a lot of all the daytime scenes you’d see in Kamen Rider or Super Sentai shows set in a rock quarry. The river / underwater scenes are bananas! Those suits were probably taking on water and heavy as hell. The final big battle is really great and very in line with its Japanese brethren. I’d love to see this dubbed in Japanese with English subtitles.
Fun seeing those long nails on that archeologist woman. She’s also a great shot! Heh
