Very formulaic premise but giving this a soft 7/10 for making it interesting despite knowing all the beats before they happen. However one specific driving sequence earns that 7 rating b/c I’ve never seen it before and hot damn I was roaring while it was happening. A lot of the obvious we’ve-seen-it-before stuff is a tad tiresome but I like the lead and that everything occurs within a short period of time, like maybe 2 days or less?? Knowing that it’s kind of nuts how much does occur and of course there’s suspension of belief needed to accept a lot of it.
Maybe because it all happens within a short period of time the viewer can accept the incompetency, missteps and lack of investigative details? Like a big plot point is a burned car that the investigative team just overlooks as being the correct car from the get-go. Seems like a big detail. Anyways, I kinda needed a movie that didn’t require much brainwork and this delivers. Decent debut feature by this director.
I’m still angry about one moment at the end but whatever.

I was cackling during the first robbery scene with the car!
