Viewing Notes

This was the #slutstuff live tweet flick tonight so I decided to watch it since I cannot afford to get that Lenzi / Baker boxset from Severin atm. This film is included in that giallo boxset but I wouldn’t classify this as typical gialli. More like gialli-adjacent. However, this is definitely a psychological thriller.

I’m sure this isn’t the first example of a couple of home invaders befriended the host than taking control of the situation and terrorizing the host. But this does feel like a premise that influenced DEATH GAME, which was later remade by Eli Roth in KNOCK KNOCK w/Keanu Reeves. Both of those share a similar premise as this movie however in this movie the a man and woman posing as brother and sister that put one over on Carroll Baker.

And just like those other examples, this is quite mean spirited. But that’s premise so I don’t think it could work if it wasn’t. I’d like see the restored version of this as the transfer on YT was rather awful.
