In comic Woody Allen’s film debut, he took the Japanese action film “International Secret Police: Key of Keys” and re-dubbed it, changing the plot to make it revolve around a secret egg salad recipe.

Since this followed The World’s Most Beautiful Swindlers in the DKUTV birthday celebration for Mie Hama I just decided to let it roll while I was sorting trash. Didn’t realize I did the exact same thing last year for the same Mie Hama tribute via DKUTV. I dislike this movie a little more on each viewing; it’s so fucking racist and offensive. I’m sure Woody Allen thought this was super clever at the time but it’s a lot of blue jokes that don’t land.
Sure, having these excellent actors is great but not when they’re dubbed saying playground jokes. I am making it a mission to track down the original film Key of Keys even if it’s not subtitled.
