Viewing Notes

Dinner & a movie: finished this which I had started late last night (or early this morning) bc DKUTV was having a Katsuhiro Otomo event today to celebrate his birthday and I was looking up which films they were scheduling and whether I had seen them all or not. Turns out I had seen them all already but since this one was available on Prime and I was wanting something that could break up into parts it was a good choice.

Viewed this 3 years ago and only recalled a few of the short films. The final one (before the wraparound) “Nightmare” I didn’t recall whatsoever! “Starlight Angel” was my favorite on this viewing followed by “Deprive” by Hidetoshi Omori, which was my favorite on my first viewing. The streaming transfer looked very nice but figured it would on my macbook but in the final addendum credits they state that this transfer was sourced from the recent 2K restoration that Discotek did a few years ago. That was p cool to see! I had also wanted to get that Blu when it was released (that’s what prompted me to check it out 3 years ago!).
