Overview

When a new friend is brutally assaulted, Detective John Droomor is put by chance in charge of the investigation. Although the evidence against the perpetrators seems overwhelming, there is nothing definitive in the case that guarantees justice is served, even more so if some people are willing to twist and betray it.

Viewing Notes

Continuing my official unofficial Nicolas Cage project for 2021 with this one. Not a good movie and really doesn’t kick in until an hour into the runtime but I’m always down for Cage’s vigilante justice and killing really bad dudes. I just wish everything hadn’t been overly weighted against the victim (the judge’s behavior was completely ridiculous). Don Johnson always does a good smarmy villain type.

The mother-daughter trio is interesting if you go by their true RL birthdates. The older mother (Unger) is 20 years older than the victim who is 15 years older than her daughter. If going by the young daughter’s in-story age, her mother is 19 years older. It’s never mentioned in film but both mothers had their daughter at a young age. This is the type of thing I think when the movie isn’t so good. haha

Having lived near and been to Niagara Falls a few times I always like seeing it in film even when most of this movie was shot in Georgia. I’m not sure it’s possible to get that close to the falls without going thru to some security fences or barricades but I could be wrong about that since I never attempted anything that crazy.

Guess this is another duplicate entry bc I recall Ron logging this one when I left a comment on his entry.

Yeah, must be a duplicate. I kept thinking I swear I’ve seen this but maybe not since my name isn’t showing up!
