Overview
Once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, the townspeople are forever…changed…and a small group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.

Viewing Notes
Seated at one of the sketchiest AMC Theaters I’ve visited. Used to be an old Carmike like the one in Rapid City. Very similar look and feel and vibe but somehow cheaper and crappier?
Turns out this was also the worst projection I’ve experienced in theater this year (perhaps the last few years). Just an awful presentation. I’m not even gonna tag the theater name bc I don’t ever plan on visiting this theater again.
To top it off, the movie is not good. So disappointing. It’s caught between being an adaptation and homage never finding its footing as a movie. So many odd or poor decisions including some of the casting choices. I adore Kaya and her embrace of genre filmmaking but she’s hardly used in the film and seems so out of place here. She’s not good as this character either.
I’m gonna have to revisit the OG RE series or watch one of the animated films to rinse my eyes from this one.
