Overview

Frankie Chan and Max Mok are high-class car thieves whose sticky fingers get them in trouble with some gangsters, and then some really nasty gangsters. Tough policewoman Yukari Oshima wants to put the thieves behind bars, but realizes that by working together against the gangsters they can both benefit more.

This is a wild one that features Yukari Oshima in a real good role. Usually she’s resigned to playing a thug or a villain but she’s a hero in this and while it does suck that she gets the girlfriend character, it allows her more screentime and some good bits as well as kicking ass. Still would’ve like to seen even more of her.

This is a Frankie Chan directed project for Frankie Chan to be the lead. It’s a buddy comedy where these two Frankie and Max Mok steal cars and chop shop them but decided to turn over a new leaf when Frankie falls for Oshima’s lady cop character. But like any crime flick they can’t escape it so easily.

DriveInMob had this programmed for their live tweet of MARCHIAL ARTS month. Wish it had more martial arts but the little it has is p damn good. The opening setpiece in the parking garage is great. This is another movie that needs an updated, restored, new-scan release. The dub we got via DriveInMob is okay. There’s a complete Cantonese version on YT that lacks subtitles but sounds way better. 

This would be an ideal release for 88 Films, total second tier Golden Harvest but entertaining. Because it has an English dub I wonder if WB has this title.
