Happy to see another film that I haven’t seen… programmed for The Last Drive-in! When I first saw this movie poster back in the day I wanted to see this movie. But then I forgot about it. Cool to finally see it even if it doesn’t quite live up to the ideas in my head.
There’s a lot of neat things and imagery in this flick but they really don’t gel together. Feels flat. Besides FREAKS it did remind me of MADHOUSE and other similar London set films. If there was a nice release of this I’d give it another watch. I enjoyed JBB’s commentary but it kind of distracted me during the movie. Maybe bc I hadn’t seen it before?
