Viewing Notes

From the director of FURIE

Soft 7 out of 10—goofy premise with some basic story beats we’ve seen before (arranged marriage with villain; king doesn’t believe in his daughter, girl power, etc). It’s all fine. But I give this one a full rating point bump for including my faves Veronica Ngo and Olga Kurylenko in solid supporting roles. Plus the action is p top notch with some good long shots showcasing the movements. There’s a great long shot in the dungeon that is really nicely choreographed and filmed.

Wonder if this will get a physical media release given it’s a Hulu release. I’d own it just for Veronica Ngo bc we don’t get nearly enough of her.

I didn’t realize this was directed by Lê Văn Kiệt and had Veronica Ngo in it. I’ll have to give it a watch!
