Viewing Notes

First time viewing on the big screen in Japanese with English subtitles and the best I’ve seen it. Almost feels wrong to see it look this good. Still blown away by that animation and all the little details.

The audio was amazing at the Drafthouse which the Music Box could never offer at my previous screenings of this movie. And that score is so fucking great you want to hear it loud with an excellent sound system. Decent crowd for a Monday afternoon but maybe they also had the day off.

Viewing it now that blurb about the Olympics being next year (in 2020) is rather amazing given that Japan did in fact host the 2020 games (but in 2021).
