IFS had pull AKIRA off the schedule at the request of the licensing distributors so it became a secret screening. Which wasn’t really a secret screening. Funny how that works. But it was free show due to all this drama. Also the second largest attended screening I’ve been to there. Great to see that and knowing they came out for AKIRA.

This was the print from UCLA so I’ve seen it three times now, twice at Music Box and once at Muenzinger. Lot of scratches but those colors still pop. Animation masterpiece. Just realized that my every log of this film has been a theatrical screening. Guess I need to view this at home someday!
