Second movie in my Monday Double Feature at AMC Westminster Promenade and the main reason why I did the double. So so so happy I came down to see this… which is now in my top ten for year so far. Such a Very Canadian Movie™ and yet super nerdy with the tech and movie references. Having worked at tech companies this hit so close to home I couldn’t help but LOL at every depiction of the working environments and senior leadership missives.
I’ve been a Matt Johnson fan since The Dirties. He crushed it for Operation Avalanche. And once again makes what sounds like a dry topic so fucking entertaining. I’m envious of the CFF crowd who saw this at a sold out MBT w/Matt there for a Q&A. I’m sure there was so much LOL that dialogue was missed. Unlike my quiet audience at Promenade.
Didn’t plan on a Glenn Howerton double feature but holy shit does he steal the movie here. And Michael Ironside? Goddamn what perfect casting.

Another reason this one worked so well for me is that I lived thru this period and remember being sold on the BlackBerry then the Palm then when the iPhone was announced. So much of that period touched on in this movie.
