Wanted some Michael Jai White to get primed for his new movie this week. Bonus getting everyone else in this non-stop martial arts action extravaganza. Definitely warmed up to the premise and villainy of Adkins, Bisbing and White, which initially was a surprise when I saw this in theater. They seem to be enjoying being bad.
Ofc I love Tony Jaa and it’s nice to see him get some decent action scenes in a crowded movie. Tiger is great and it’s neat showing a more vulnerable Iko character.
The only bonus feature is the same one they played in theater with the cast talking about working together and in Thailand. Got a little teary eyed hearing Adkins’ reverence for Jaa and finally getting to work with him. Just cool to see from someone already established in action Cinema.
I like most of Jesse V Johnson’s directorial efforts and this movie is very good. Only wish he didn’t do that final sequence at night in the dark.
