My thanksgiving movie pick and one all of us hadn’t seen in a very long time. Been wanting to revisit recently since the Sly documentary came out and ppl were talking about this film. It really is perfect for the season and I love that it happens from Thanksgiving thru Christmas and doesn’t mention Christmas; it just has the visual cues, decorations and whatnot. Love!
What really stood out to me is that yes the story is about this loser that gets a lucky break and fights the champion for the title and nearly wins. But that’s really just a wrapper for the love story at its core, two losers that find each other. It’s beautiful. Lots of joyful tears during this one.
