Overview

In 2176, a Martian police unit is sent to pick up a highly dangerous criminal at a remote mining post. Upon arrival, the cops find the post deserted and something far more dangerous than any criminal — the original inhabitants of Mars, hellbent on getting their planet back.

Happy Christmas to me! Thrilled to find this Indicator release for a good price with free international shipping.

I like this movie but that screenplay and script needed another punch up to really convey what Carpenter was trying to do. To be a homage to tongue in cheek eighties action flicks this need not be so dreadfully serious. As a western in a science fiction wrapper it’s fun with a solid cast.
