The subtitles on this DVD are not very good and make the already convoluted story worse. But these three ladies plus the addition of Lau Ching-wan get a full ratings point bump. I love this trio especially when they’re onscreen together.
Looking forward to the criterion release with better PQ and subtitles. While I’m delighted they are releasing these batshit movies it’s nuts there’s 30+ other Johnnie To that deserve the same treatment.
This is a Christmas movie and had I remembered I would’ve watched leading up to Xmas instead of today. Still gonna add to advent bc why not.
