DKUTV doing a Fukuda non-Godzilla triple feature tonight, none available on a legit release. Probably my least favorite of his. Still don’t buy that this was a Star Wars ripoff bc there’s nothing similar to that film. My take is that science fiction was hot and they just made their own thing. Altho the Gohten looking like both Atragon and Yamato has me wondering if this was meant to be a different story and the result was this.
Still amazed that they cast Yuko Asano as the female lead when she was 16yo to portray a woman older (early to mid twenties) instead of changing the screenplay. She was a popular singer at the time so her casting makes sense but all the marriage stuff is so weird given all the dudes are way way older.
