Viewing Notes

RIP Norman Chu
October 16, 1950 – September 1, 2024

More ppl showed up incl. Ron but still not nearly enough given this is a classic and influential Shaw Bros. film. Still great to see on the big screen for the first time even in its dubbed format. Gordon Liu was such a specimen.

OH I HAVE SEEN THIS ON THE BIG SCREEN BACK IN THE DAY AT THE PORTAGE THEATRE. totally forgot about that. also I’ve seen this or parts of it between now and then. In fact I started watching the BD from the Shawscope set last year but never finished. I mention this bc this movie and all the story beats are so ingrained in my brain it feels like I’ve seen this 20 times.
