A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973)

Directed by Phil Roman, Bill Melendez

Animation | Holiday | Family

Overview

Turkey, cranberries, pumpkin pie… and the Peanuts gang to share them with. This is going to be the greatest Thanksgiving ever! The fun begins when Peppermint Patty invites herself and her pals to Charlie Brown’s house for a REALLY big turkey party. Good grief! All our hero can cook is cold cereal and maybe toast. Is Charlie Brown doomed? Not when Linus, Snoopy and Woodstock chip in to save the (Thanksgiving) Day. With such good friends, Charlie Brown - and all of us - have so many reasons to be thankful.

Viewing Notes

Another banger and one I have seen before. Almost bought the dvd at a thrift last weekend (wish I had). Peppermint Patty still an asshole.

One thing that’s become evident during this cartoon block on DKUTV: I don’t like viewing thanksgiving programs outside of the actual day of Thanksgiving. Unlike Christmas or Halloween in which I spend the whole month watching themed programming, I can only watch Thanksgiving shows or movies on Thanksgiving. There’s an exception or two ofc but I wouldn’t spin up these cartoons on any other day. It’s only appropriate and perfect for today.
