Viewing Notes
My previous notes predicted correctly that my rating would go up if I watched this projected. A rare treat to see this on 35mm for IFS. Those previous notes still stand esp. how much this film feels older than 2000.
Two of the most handsome people in cinema. Palpable chemistry. Color and time creating the mood. An unmatched dress game by Maggie Cheung thanks to the costume designer (Cheung is never shown once without wearing a cheongsam or qipao dress).
Now I want to watch the updated version to see how different the color grading is.
