Happy Birthday (or anniversary?) to this significant piece of film history. Not sure I’ve ever given this a viewing on its anniversary date so what the hay.
I watched the Japanese version on the supplements disc from the Criterion collection. Logging the US edition since I was incorrectly logging the JP edition and don’t want to go back and fix all those. Most of the principle are listed.
The Japanese version is so much better and feels right, incl. the wonderful Ifukube score.
