I’ve had a AVI file for the original Japanese cut for a long time but never watched it for whatever reason. I think it’s now on the Criterion release on the extras disc, from what I’ve read.
The thing that always stands out the most in the US version, besides the additional scenes shot in Hollywood, is using the Creature from the Black Lagoon score. Just so bizarre to hear in this movie!
