A tourist witnesses a murder and finds herself caught up in a series of bloody killings. This one is interesting as it feels like a Hitchcock film while everything is going on where most of Bava’s other films feel more like the Twilight Zone or Outer Limits. This was definitely not the US cut of the film as it’s still in Italian with subtitles which was a nice bonus as it looks like the US version altered the film significantly. The cinematography is fantastic, especially for a black and white film. The also turn some of what would be genre expectations on its head a bit. The female lead is pretty good and is completely relateable. Definitely glad I watched this one as it cemented Bava as one of my favorite Italian directors.
